We have a routine 4$ breakfast 1$ refill soft drink share it with my son. Go shopping get fuel head to play group. So easy with parking child care, rest rooms and shopping.

I decided on a whim to drop into IKEA as I was driving past Majura Park. It seems a little like the Tardis - while the building is huge, by the time you have walked the full length of its meandering lane and made it to the exit you feel that it is even bigger! The layout is clearly well designed.

The big down-side to IKEA is its overly clever layout. it is difficult to see how to simply charge to the section that you seek without following the pathway of shining arrows. This could be incredibly frustrating to the shopper who knows exactly what they want but cannot see the way to it past the buttressed, sectioned, divisions.

Within this enormous warehouse, there are sections for all sorts of inside and outside furniture solutions. There are also some interesting 'mini-homes' - display units that have been constructed using the company's products to show how you could actually organise a space no larger than the local Subway store into living, sleeping, cooking and cleaning areas. Very impressive.

IKEA wants its shoppers to see everything, and so lays out a pathway for them. I noticed that the arrows pointing you to the next section are not painted, but are in fact placed on the ground via lights above your head. This presumably makes reconfiguration exceedingly easy, and is another sign of the shop's design philosophy.

All up, worth a visit if you can spare a couple of hours - and certainly good exercise.

Functional, practical, beautifully Scandinavian furniture at an inexpensive price. Realistically, most of this isn't going to last a lifetime, but everything here is great value if not great quality. Come for the furniture, stay for the Swedish meatballs and the smoked salmon. :)

Great as all Ikeas are. I have been to the one in Perth and now this one. Love the way they have the path so you know you've covered all the shop. Also the cafe is great alue.
